We read everything that isn't spam, and corrections get answered fastest of all. A reader catching our mistake is the best outcome available to us — we would rather hear it from you first than from anyone else.

Corrections: what to include
We take these seriously and we are grateful for them. To make the process fast, include:
- The URL of the article
- The specific sentence or figure that is wrong
- What you believe is correct, and why
- A source, if you have one — a regulator page, a programme document, a government statistical release
If you are right, we correct the article, add a visible dated correction notice at the top explaining what changed, and thank you. If you are wrong, we reply and explain the reasoning. If it is a judgement call rather than a factual error, we say that plainly too.
We do not quietly edit articles and pretend the error never happened.
What we cannot help with
Personal financial advice. We cannot tell you whether to refinance your specific mortgage, which fund to buy with your specific savings, whether to settle a specific debt, or how to structure your specific tax position. This is not reluctance — it is that we cannot see your circumstances, we are not licensed to advise, and an answer from a website would be worse than no answer at all.
Where we can point you: a nonprofit credit counselling agency for debt, a fee-only fiduciary financial planner for investment and retirement decisions, a qualified tax professional for tax matters, and your national regulator's consumer pages for anything involving a dispute with a financial firm.
Guest posts and paid links. We do not publish contributed articles, sponsored posts, or links placed in exchange for payment. Every piece on this site is written in-house. See our Editorial Guidelines.
Urgent financial crisis support. If you are facing repossession, eviction, a utility disconnection or immediate hardship, a website is the wrong resource and the delay matters. Contact a local nonprofit credit counselling agency, your municipal or county assistance office, or a national debt helpline — they can act on your situation in ways we cannot.
Partnerships: what we will and will not accept
We will consider: affiliate relationships with regulated financial institutions, participation in established affiliate networks, and factual briefings from providers about product changes that affect content we have already published.
We will not accept: payment for editorial coverage or a positive review; payment to remove, soften or delay criticism; sponsored posts presented as independent guides; free products or travel in exchange for coverage; affiliate relationships with providers whose products we cannot recommend on the merits; and any arrangement that requires us to withhold information from readers.
Where an affiliate relationship exists on a page, it is disclosed at the top of that page and explained in our Affiliate Disclosure. Commission rates never influence rankings, and we publish products we do not earn from alongside ones we do.
Press and media
For quoting our research or requesting comment, use the editorial address and put "Press" in the subject line. Everything we publish is original to this site and may be quoted with attribution and a link, under the terms in our Terms of Use.
Complaints escalation
If you are unhappy with how we have handled something:
- Reply to our original response and ask for it to be reviewed
- If still unresolved, write to the postal address above marked "Formal complaint"
- For privacy matters, you may complain to your data protection authority — the Information Commissioner's Office in the UK, your national supervisory authority in the EU, or your state attorney general in the US. Our Privacy Policy sets out the relevant rights in full
We would rather resolve it directly, and in almost every case we can.
