Terms of Use
Last updated September 29, 2026
Effective date: 29 September 2026
These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of this website. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the site.
They are written in plain language on purpose. If any part is unclear, contact us using the details on our Contact page and we will explain it — and if the explanation differs from the text, we will fix the text.
1. Who we are
This website is operated by Mohamed Ait Nouar ("we", "us", "our"), an independent publisher of personal finance editorial content, with a registered or correspondence address at the postal address shown on our Contact page.
2. What this site is for
We publish educational content about personal finance. You may use this site to read that content, to use the free calculators and tools we provide, and to contact us.
This site is not a financial service. We do not provide personalised financial, investment, tax, legal or insurance advice; we do not hold or manage money; we do not execute transactions; and we are not a bank, broker, insurer, credit reference agency, law firm or registered investment adviser. Nothing on this site creates an advisory, fiduciary or client relationship between you and us.
3. Licence to use the site
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to access and use the site for your own non-commercial purposes, subject to these Terms.
You may:
- Read, download and print pages for your own personal use
- Quote short extracts with clear attribution and a link to the original page
- Share links to our pages on social media, in newsletters and in conversation
- Use our calculators and tools for your own financial planning
You may not:
- Republish, redistribute or syndicate whole articles, or substantial parts of them, without written permission
- Present our content as your own, or remove attribution and copyright notices
- Sell access to our content, or include it in a paid product, course or membership
- Scrape, crawl or harvest the site systematically, or use it to train a machine learning model, without written permission
- Use automated tools to submit forms, register accounts or send messages at volume
- Frame the site, mirror it, or present it inside another interface in a way that obscures its origin
- Interfere with, disrupt, overload or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site or its infrastructure
- Upload or transmit malware, or use the site in connection with any illegal activity
If you would like to reproduce an article in full — for a publication, a course, an internal training resource or a translation — email us. We say yes reasonably often and the terms are usually simple.
4. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, all content on this site is original to us and is owned by us or licensed to us. This includes text, tables, calculations, methodology, illustrations, layout, and the site's name and design.
It is protected by copyright, trade mark and other intellectual property laws in your jurisdiction and internationally.
Our illustrations are generated programmatically for this site and are not stock imagery. They are original works and are covered by the same restrictions.
Third-party material — such as quoted figures from government statistical agencies, or references to regulator publications — remains the property of its original owner and is used under fair dealing, fair use or the terms published by that source. Where a source requires specific attribution we provide it.
Trade marks belonging to third parties — bank names, product names, scoring model names — are used for editorial identification and commentary only. Their use implies no affiliation, endorsement or sponsorship by the owner.
5. Calculators and tools
The calculators on our tools page run entirely in your browser. No data you enter is transmitted to us, stored, or visible to anyone else. Clearing your browser data removes it completely.
They are provided as general planning aids using standard formulas and illustrative assumptions. They are not financial advice, they do not model your complete circumstances, and their outputs should not be relied on for a specific financial decision. Before acting on any calculation involving a substantial sum, verify it with a qualified professional.
We may change, suspend or remove any tool at any time without notice.
6. Content you send us
When you send us an email, a contact form submission, a correction or a comment:
- You confirm you have the right to send it
- You grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, perpetual licence to use, reproduce and publish it in connection with the site — for example, quoting a correction request or a reader question
- You agree we may publish it with your first name and general location if it is editorially useful, unless you ask us not to
- You understand we are not obliged to publish, respond to or retain it
- You must not send us confidential personal financial information about yourself or anyone else. We do not want your account numbers, balances, credit reports or tax filings, and we cannot safeguard them
Please do not send unsolicited article pitches, business ideas or partnership proposals expecting payment. We do not accept them, and anything you send is not treated as confidential.
7. Third-party links and advertising
The site contains links to third-party websites, including regulators, government data sources, and commercial providers. We also display advertising served by third parties, principally Google.
We do not control and are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, terms or availability of any third-party site. A link does not constitute an endorsement. Check the privacy policy and terms of any site you visit from here.
Where we may receive a commission from a link, it is disclosed on the page and explained in our Affiliate Disclosure. Advertising is handled as described in our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
Third-party advertisements may be personalised based on cookies, subject to your consent choices. You can change or withdraw consent at any time via the Cookie preferences link in the footer.
8. No warranty
We work hard to make this site accurate, current and useful, and we correct errors when they are found. But the site is provided "as is" and "as available", and to the maximum extent permitted by law we make no warranties of any kind, whether express, implied or statutory, including:
- That the content is accurate, complete, current or error-free
- That it is suitable for your particular circumstances or purpose
- That the site will be uninterrupted, secure or free of defects
- That any figure, rate, limit or rule quoted will remain current
Financial rules, rates, contribution limits, tax thresholds and product terms change frequently and without notice. Anything on this site may be out of date on the day you read it, however recently it was reviewed. Verify current figures with the primary source — which we link to wherever possible — before relying on them.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of implied warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law:
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive loss
- We are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, savings, data, goodwill or anticipated benefit
- We are not liable for any decision you make, or refrain from making, in reliance on content on this site
- We are not liable for third-party content, products, services or advertising
- Our total aggregate liability arising out of or relating to your use of this site, for any cause, is limited to the greater of $100 or the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other liability that applicable law does not permit us to restrict.
The allocation of risk in these Terms reflects the fact that the site is free. If you paid a substantial fee for professional advice, you would be entitled to substantially more.
10. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless against claims, losses and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the site, or your violation of any law or third-party right. This does not apply to anything we are responsible for under section 9.
11. Your privacy
Our collection and use of personal data is described in our Privacy Policy and our Cookie Policy. Both form part of these Terms. Please read them — they explain what we collect, why, and what rights you have.
12. Acceptable use and access
We may suspend or terminate your access without notice if you breach these Terms, if we are required to by law, or if your use creates a risk to the site or to other users. We may also change, suspend or discontinue any part of the site at any time.
We do not guarantee that the site will always be available. Planned maintenance is usually short and unannounced.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms when our practices, services or the law change. The effective date at the top always shows the current version, and material changes are announced on the site for at least 30 days before taking effect.
Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. If you disagree with a change, stop using the site — and tell us why, because we would like to know.
14. Advertising and commercial arrangements
This site is funded by display advertising and, in some articles, affiliate commissions. Advertisers and affiliate partners have no involvement in, no review of, and no influence over our editorial content. Full details are in our Editorial Guidelines and Affiliate Disclosure.
We do not accept payment for coverage, do not publish sponsored content presented as independent editorial, and do not allow commercial partners to review articles before publication.
15. General
Severability. If any provision is held unenforceable, the remainder stays in full effect and the unenforceable provision is modified only as much as needed to make it enforceable while preserving its intent.
Entire agreement. These Terms, together with our Privacy Policy, Cookie Policy, Disclaimer, Affiliate Disclosure and Editorial Guidelines, form the whole agreement between us about your use of the site.
No waiver. If we do not enforce a provision immediately, we do not waive it.
Assignment. You may not transfer your rights under these Terms. We may transfer ours in connection with a sale or reorganisation of the site, with notice.
Third-party rights. These Terms do not confer rights on anyone other than you and us, except that our licensors may enforce provisions protecting their intellectual property.
16. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of [your jurisdiction — state and country], and any dispute is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
This does not deprive you of any mandatory protection available where you live. If you are a consumer in the EU or UK, you retain the benefit of any provision of your local law that cannot be derogated from by agreement, and you may bring proceedings in your country of residence.
If a dispute arises, contact us first. Most are misunderstandings and almost all can be resolved by email.
17. Contact
Questions about these Terms: see our Contact page for current email and postal details.
